Study of Aconiti tuber on normal Rats : change of body weight , transaminase.

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study is to investigate effect of Aconiti tuber on the change of body weight, serum lipid composition. To study side effect of Aconiti tuber, we investigate AST, ALT, and ALP in serum.
First, normal rats were divided into four groups: the oral application groups, which received Aconiti tuber water extract (50% mixed water group, 90% mixed water group), the aqua-acupuncture group, which treated aqua-acupuncture at chok-samni(ST36), and the control group, which had no treatment. And then, We measured several items and compare with each other : body weight, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride, urine volume, AST, ALT, and ALP.
The results of this study are summarized as follows.
1. Aconiti tuber treated groups stimulated the decrease of body weight.
2. The blood levels of total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride in Aconiti tuber treated groups were decreased.
3. The blood levels of ALT, AST in Aconiti tuber treated groups were increased.
The above results suggested that the Aconiti tuber oral application & Aqua-acupuncture with Aconiti tuber at chok-samni(ST 36) decreased body weight and serum lipids.
Therefore Aconiti tuber may used for the treatment of obesity. But there are apparent side effects of Aconiti tuber on clinical, therefore the study on this should be continued.
